Spring Is Slowly Showing Up

I spent the morning uncovering the raised bed, turning some compost, and then raking up a few remnants of winter leaves scattered across the backyard. Except for allergies, I love this time of the year. Fall is great and all, but Spring seems more up my alley.

In the next two weeks, I’ll work at potting tomatoes and Pepper seedlings, and then I’ll get the green beans and squash seeds started. By mid-June, we should begin to see some great crops produce!!!

  1. I’m planning my garden now, too. But I don’t do seeds. haha! I simply have no place for them except for our front bay window. My cats would tear them to pieces. They love dirt and plants. I’ll see what plants our local garden center has this year. Last year, I got amazing tomatoes – Jersey (nothing to do with our state) – and I got hundreds of tomatoes from only 4 plants. Hoping for that again this year.

I’d like to try corn, but Daryl’s like, nope. We have loads of critters who would love it, which is why Daryl’s hesitant. But I think we can do it. Maybe make a chicken wire fence. And we’re surrounded by fields, so I’m thinking the deer have plenty to choose from. They might leave our backyard alone. 🙂
